Faith Integration Supervision Series

This clinical supervision group is designed for social workers seeking to thoughtfully integrate faith and spirituality into their practice while maintaining ethical, client-centered care. It offers a reflective, supportive space to examine the intersection of personal belief systems and professional responsibilities. Whether you work in a faith-based organization, private practice, or a secular setting, your values and worldview inevitably shape the therapeutic space—this group invites intentional, ethical engagement with that reality.

Participants will engage in guided discussions and case consultation focused on identifying and addressing personal biases related to faith, culture, and worldview. Emphasis is placed on deepening self-awareness and strengthening the ability to navigate value conflicts with clinical integrity. While acknowledging the diversity of beliefs—even within the same faith tradition—this group is not a space for evangelism or theological debate. Respectful dialogue is essential, and language that is dismissive or harmful toward others’ beliefs will not be permitted.

The group will also explore the thoughtful use of therapist self-disclosure related to faith, including discerning when it may be clinically appropriate, evaluating potential impact on clients, and maintaining clear professional boundaries. As interest and relevance emerge, participants will be introduced to a range of faith-informed interventions and practices—such as mindfulness, prayer (when appropriate and client-led), values exploration, and meaning-making frameworks—that can be adapted to honor diverse client identities and preferences.

Through case consultation, reflective practice, and skill development, this group supports clinicians in integrating faith in a manner that is intentional, culturally responsive, and grounded in social work ethics.

In advance of session, a survey will be sent with opportunities to share questions you’d like considered for discussion, a list of possible topics to rank and a case consultation form to be used if wanting to present a case for feedback.
